Eurovision Song Contest 2017 seemed to be a special one to Armenians, as, alongside Armenian representative Artsvik, there was the Armenian-Cypriot participant Hovig Demirdjian representing Cyprus, who gave an extra hope to Armenians and got their full support.
Both Armenia and Cyprus passed the Semi- Finals with Cyprus ending up in 5th Place and Armenia at 7th with 164 and 152 points.
The final results were devastating as both countries were not at the top of the list.
Here are the results of the Final voting, according to Cyprus Greek Television Ant1iwo:
Hovig Demirdjian was born in Nicosia Cyprus in 1989, where he grew up attending local Nareg Armenian School and Melkonian Institute. Hovig first surfaced to the audience when he participated in the Greek X Factor in 2009 at the age of 20 on Ant1 (Antenna TV).
