Nagorno Karabagh conflict and solutions: YSU Law students

NKR PROBLEM IS IN THE CENTER OF STUDENTS’ ATTENTION NKR PROBLEM IS IN THE CENTER OF STUDENTS’ ATTENTION A video on the Nagorno-Karabakh problem has been prepared at the initiative of the SSS of YSU Faculty of Law.
The video aims to draw international community’s attention to the NKR conflict and its possible solution.
In the video, students answer questions, bringing legal and historical justifications. Presenting historical past, students refer to Strabo, Pliny, Dion Cassius and the works of others, which clearly state that Artsakh was an inseparable part of Armenia.

Students then present how the Nagorno-Karabakh was part of Azerbaijan in Soviet times full of persecution and violence.
And the significant event of September 2, 1991 – the announcement of Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence, students consider as the right of the Artsakh people to self-determination, referring to the paragraph 2 of the first chapter of Article 1 of the UN Charter, the decision N1514 adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1960, the advisory opinions of the international Court of Justice regarding Kosovo and many current examples of nations to self-determination.
Students urge to stop Azerbaijani aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh and the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be based on the recognition of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic by the international community.
