Armenian Representative’s office announcement:

On the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the Cyprus House of Representatives have made a historic decision this morning, by unanimously passing a Law making the denial of the Armenian Genocide a criminal offence.

In 1975 the Cyprus House of Representatives became the first European Parliament and the second in the world, to recognise the Armenian Genocide.

I would like to sincerely thank all my colleagues in the House for taking this very significant step, which will hopefully be of some comfort to the souls of our 1.5 million brothers and sisters, martyrs of our faith and nation.
